We are so blessed to live in a small Victorian Sea Port. After having a marine related business for 10-11 years in the local Boat Haven just on the southern side of down town I often finding myself taking a self guided tour of the current happenings in that little shipyard. From steel to wood, it’s all interesting…at least to me.
These two images are the enlarging of a small fishing boat. When it comes to commercial fishing “Bigger is Better” $$$.
Can’t really tell if this is going to be a pleasure or working boat. A Charter Boat? Anyway looks like they’re removing part of the stern to maybe change it’s looks or function.
Now to the other side of the yard. Dry Rot! When you see a small amount of it on the surface…well, you never know how far your going to have to chase it. What started out to be a small tare out of part of the stern section soon turned into a major repair
I saw all three of these when they first got into port and the work started. When I know I’ ll be sticking around for a couple months, maybe this winter, I think I see a project happening. Yes?
Yes! I see one too. Go for it Don!
you should also come down to Pt. Hudson and take a couple pics of sweet Lorraine…she now has new hull paint, new varnish and new deck paint….she twinkles 🙂 Enjoyed your shots…
